Many of you are asking what’s happening with the book. Well, it is currently in the copyedit stage – which means that it is being groomed with a fine toothed comb to find any grammar and spelling or reference mistakes. And bless the editors at Penguin because I am the run-on sentence queen! While that is going on behind the scenes, they sent me galleys, which are mock-ups of what my first book will look like – that I secretly want to take into Barnes and Noble and sandwich between a few of my faves, just to see what it looks like. But I shall refrain. My job with these gorgeous galleys is to send them to fashion and entertainment contacts that I admire, who will hopefully in turn read it and generously give me a quote about the book or the fashion, etc. We have some incredible endorsements rolling in and I feel extremely lucky!
This is an exciting albeit anxious time because it is a waiting game at this point. I am waiting for everything to be finalized. There have been hundreds of big and little steps along the way, making me often feel like a horse chasing a carrot. Every night when I go to sleep, I think – “Another day closer to September..” and I’ve been doing this since January! Part of me wishes to speed up the clock and the other wants to pump the brakes. The unknown is so nerve wrecking. Surely all of you can relate to that in your own way!
Thanks for all the online support! I am so excited to share The LBW with you all!
My manuscript next to Joan Rivers at the publishers. No big deal. (Squeeeeeeeak!!!)
